Bio

Sarah Bird is a professional vocalist and singer/songwriter from the UK. As well as writing music, Sarah performs all over the world (New York, Hong Kong and across Europe) at private events, speakeasies and even busking on the streets. Her partner and multi-instrumentalist Andy Robertson joins her on bass in her full band "Nanna Radleys”(along with her sister Lauren who shares lead vocals) and on acoustic guitar in duo “Bird & the Bad Man” and accompanies her on her releases. Sarah and Andy have recently started writing together and are embarking on an album of original R&B and soul music. 


Sarah has also done sessions for many amazing musicians, with the most recent being featured on the latest album from Melvin Lee Davis (musical director and bass player for Chaka Khan), Genre Music: Chapter 2 (Joni) and Uncle Frank of Fun Lovin’ Criminals.


Sarah and Andy have made a name for themselves in the UK R&B and soul hub of Birmingham. Performing live at funk, soul and gospel nights in venues like The Jam House, Pizza Express Jazz Club and Birmingham Symphony Hall. They recently organised “A Night of the Music of Anita Baker” at Pizza Express Jazz Club; a completely sold out night, with those unlucky enough not to secure tickets being turned away at the door. Sarah showcased her stunning, soulful vocal, Andy showcased his exceptional bass playing and musical director skills, backed by a band of the UK’s best musicians. 

Sarah and Andy have had the opportunity to support some of the best Soul and Funk musicians at The Jam House, including Mica Paris, The Hamish Stuart Band (Average White Band, Chaka Khan, Paul McCartney), Leela James (dubbed the goddaughter of soul by the godfather of soul, James Brown), Heatwave, The Stylistics, and Hot Chocolate, to name a few.
